July 8, 2013 Brunswick, Maine Brunswick Artist Janet Glatz Addresses Climate Change in Vivid Color Initially known as a landscape painter of Maine forest and coastal scenes, Janet Glatz has taken on the role of artist/activist. Her new narrative series tells the viewer in no uncertain terms that something must be done to slow the damaging effects of elevated temperatures, melting glaciers, and the resulting higher sea levels. Ms. Glatz joins a growing group of artists whose desire is to change the world for the better, one painting, play, story, or short film at a time. They call themselves eco-artists, or environmental artists, and most belong to organizations that work toward sustainability goals.
